Lita Rossana Ford is popularly referred to as Lita Ford, is a British American guitarist vocalist and songwriter who served as the lead guitarist in the all-girl hard rock group The Runaways in the late 1970s.Their punkish sound and rebellious lyrics made them popular within the world of rock. The group was not able to achieve major success in their home country of the United States but earned huge recognition abroad, particularly in Japan. Ford started a metal solo career when the group was disbanded in 1979. She started taking voice lessons and then released her first album "Out For Blood" and then "Dancin" at the Edge. Ford vanished for some decades from the world of music as the two albums failed to get any attention. The singer returned in 1988 with her wildly successful album 'Lita which was released in 1988. Kiss Me Deadly, and Close My Eyes Forever both became big hits. Sadly, her fame was only temporary and she was absent from the world of music for a number of decades. The album's release Black in 1995 was followed by fifteen-year delay for the album 'Wicked Wonderland. The year was 2016, and her latest album'Time Capsule' was made available. Her name was given The Certified Guitar Legend Award by Guitar Player Magazine.
