Lisa Olivia Munn grew up in Oklahoma City. The mother of her child, Kimberly Schmid, lived in Vietnam, and is of Chinese heritage, while her dad, Winston Barrett Munn, is from a family with long-standing roots within the American South. Olivia's parents separated at the age of 2. She was raised by her mother, who worked as a pilot in the United States Air Force, as well as her stepfather. They left Oklahoma and moved to various locations, however she spent the bulk of her childhood in Tokyo. She appeared in local theater productions throughout this time and became a fashion actress for Japanese industry. Olivia relocated from to the United States back to Los Angeles and pursued her dream of becoming an actor.
